An arboreal monkey from Brazil's Rondônia state. Its brown back, reddish limbs and belly, and black crown help distinguish it.
Its back is brown, its arms, neck, and belly are reddish, and its crown and ears are black. Its tail is not adapted for grasping branches.
It is active by day in the trees and eats fruits, leaves, and other plant foods. In one group in an urban forest fragment, researchers observed animals chewing leaves and rubbing them on their chest and hands. A protective effect remains a hypothesis, not a demonstrated function.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
