The Fynbos Golden Mole is a subterranean mammal endemic to South Africa. It uses soft sandy soils and is recorded in fynbos and forest-edge habitats.
Coat color differs between the two subspecies described in the assessment. The nominate A. c. corriae has a gray-black back; A. c. devilliersi is described as reddish brown above.
It uses sandy soils and soft loams in fynbos, afromontane forest, moist savanna and renosterveld. In the wild it feeds mainly on earthworms and insects; trapping records favor forest fringes and adjoining fynbos.
