A southern and central African antelope of grasslands and floodplains. It shifts away from flooded areas in the rainy season and stays closer to water during the dry season.
Its coat is golden yellow, with a browner forehead. White markings occur around the eyes, on the neck and underside, and above the upper lip.
It mainly eats perennial grasses. It uses floodplains in the rainy season, moves to higher ground when they are inundated, and stays near remaining watercourses during the dry season.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
