The New Ireland Myzomela (Myzomela pulchella) occurs in Papua New Guinea. It uses moist tropical and montane forest, feeding on nectar and invertebrates found in the forest.
The 1899 account describes a red head and throat, dark olive-brown back, wings and tail, and yellowish lower body and undertail. The inner edges of the flight feathers are white and the tail-feather edges olive.
It is associated with tropical montane forest and moist tropical forest, where it feeds on nectar and invertebrates.
