The Yellow-bibbed Lory is a parrot with a red body, black crown, yellow chest band, and green wings. In the wild it lives in forests of the eastern Solomon Islands and eats flowers, fruit, and other foods.
Adults are mostly red, with a black crown and a broad yellow band across the upper chest. The wings are green, and blue-purple feathers cover the thighs.
In the wild it eats insects and larvae, parts of flowers, seeds, and fruit.
It is often seen alone, in pairs, or in groups of up to about ten. It is notably quiet while feeding in the forest canopy.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
