This bulbul is endemic to the Seychelles. It lives in forests and secondary growth, and young birds differ from adults in bill and leg color.
Adults have orange bills and legs, whereas immature birds have dusky ones. Males are larger than females but have similar plumage.
In the Seychelles in September–October 1976, birds were seen in groups of one to five and ate insects, fruit, flowers, birds’ eggs and nectar.
During breeding, birds hold territories and may vigorously defend the nest against other birds and even approaching people.
The body is dark brown, with a black crest on the head.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
