The Broad-billed Tody is a small bird found only on Hispaniola. It hunts insects and also occurs in lowland woodland, thorn scrub, and coffee and cacao farms.
It has a proportionally large head and a long, broad bill. Its upperparts are emerald green, its throat red, its sides pink, and its belly and undertail yellow-white.
It watches for prey under leaves, then jumps from a perch to catch it in midair. Its food includes insects, spiders, millipedes, small lizards, and sometimes small fruits.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
