Jackson's soft-furred mouse has soft fur and a tail longer than its head and body. It lives in forests and cultivated landscapes and feeds on fruit, seeds, and nuts.
Its fur is long and soft, gray above in juveniles and subadults but rufous in adults, with whitish gray underparts. The nearly naked tail is longer than the head and body.
It is active at night and around dawn or dusk and eats fruits, seeds, and nuts. Reproduction was recorded year-round in one study of Masako Forest.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
