This small swallow has a small bill and green-glossed upperparts.
It flies over open hills and catches flies and other insects in the air. It builds a cup-shaped mud nest beneath cliff ledges or on structures such as buildings and bridges.
In the Western Ghats of India, it built cup-shaped nests mainly from mud pellets and lined them with feathers.
Among 36 nests monitored at two sites in the Western Ghats during 2002–2005, clutches contained two or three eggs: 20 nests had two and 16 had three.
In the Western Ghats, both sexes took part in nest construction, incubation and feeding the young.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
