An antthrush of Andean forests from Colombia to Bolivia, living in dense undergrowth and among fallen trees.
About 19–20.5 cm long, with whitish lores, a black-and-white barred post-eye stripe, and black ear-coverts.
It inhabits dense cloud-forest undergrowth, often around fallen trees. The source says diet information is very limited, with small seeds recorded.
