This small bird inhabits mountain forests on New Guinea. Its blue crown stands out, and it searches moss and branches for insects and other small prey.
Its crown is black with shiny blue tips. The upperparts and tail are dark olive-brown, while the underside is ochre with a paler throat.
In mossy, moist montane forest, it gleans insects and worms from moss, trunks, and branches. The study described groups of up to six birds.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
