This shrew is recorded around Lake Manenguba in Cameroon. Its original description notes a dark grey-brown back, paler underside, and sparsely furred tail; both known specimens were trapped in damp shore vegetation.
The original account describes dark grey-brown upperparts and a slightly paler underside without a sharp boundary. The dark tail is almost hairless, with a few bristles near its base.
Both specimens were trapped in damp vegetation along Lake Manenguba. Part of the lakeshore was swampy. Suggested use of nearby forest remnants was the author’s hypothesis, not a reported forest capture.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
