The Ashy-fronted Bulbul occurs on Palawan and nearby islands in the western Philippines. It is treated here as the separate species Pycnonotus cinereifrons, rather than under older treatments that included it as a subspecies of the Olive-winged Bulbul. It eats fruit in forest edges and coastal scrub.
It is dull brown overall, with a whitish throat and centre of the belly. Fine cheek streaks and olive edging on the wings and tail are also described.
It uses forest, forest edges, coastal scrub and plantations. It is usually seen alone or in pairs, sometimes joining other bulbuls at fruiting trees and shrubs.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
