The mountain cuscus is an arboreal marsupial of New Guinea's mountains. It has thick, dark fur and feeds on leaves and fruit at night.
Thick, dark brown to nearly black woolly fur covers most of its body; the belly is white, and the tail has a white tip.
It is nocturnal and rests by day in arboreal shelters such as tree hollows and tangles of epiphytes. Its diet consists mainly of leaves, with fruit also eaten.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
