The Golden-fronted Whitestart has a restricted range in the Colombian Andes and far western Venezuela. It moves through different forest levels and flashes white on its tail.
The upperparts are gray and the underparts yellow. Some populations have an all-yellow face, while others have a white face and yellow crown. The bird flashes the white edges of its tail.
It occurs in pairs or small groups in upper subtropical and temperate Andean forest at about 2,400–3,400 m. It forages at different forest levels and edges, sometimes joining mixed-species flocks.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
