A small bird of miombo woodland in southern Africa. The male is black, white and yellow, and searches for insects in the canopy.
The male has dull velvety black upperparts, a white patch on the wing coverts, and pale yellow underparts, warmer on the breast and whitish on the belly.
In tall miombo woodland on the Zimbabwe plateau, it forages in the canopy for insects and caterpillars.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
