A small hornbill of West Africa and lands west of the Congo River, marked by a broad gray-white eyebrow stripe.
This small hornbill has a broad gray-white stripe from bill to nape. Its wings are unspotted and dark, and the ridge along the upper bill is dark. In the Ghana account, adult males had a dark-red bill tip and females an entirely black bill.
In the Ghana study, birds were seen alone, in pairs, or in small family groups in the middle and lower levels of lowland and gallery forests. They picked insects from leaves or caught them in the air.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
