The greater pencil-tailed tree mouse is an arboreal rodent recorded in northern Borneo rainforest. It is active mainly in the canopy at night and uses tree hollows and connections between trees.
The back is grayish brown to tawny, while the underside is white to cream. The long brown tail may have pale patches below and ends in a fine, brush-like tuft.
It is nocturnal and active mainly in the rainforest canopy. In a Sabah study, captures were associated with lianas and connections between trees; use of a tree hollow about 4 m above ground was also observed.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
