The Masked Shining Parrot lives on Viti Levu in Fiji. Adults are marked by a black face and yellow to orange coloring across the breast and belly.
Both adult sexes have a black face, yellow down the center of the breast, and orange at the center of the abdomen. The outer edges of the long wing feathers are purple-blue, and the tail is green washed with blue.
Outside the breeding season, it occurs alone, in pairs, or in flocks of up to about 40. In the wild it eats fruits, seeds, flowers, and insects, and flies swiftly through forest or above the canopy.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
