This small Andean rodent is marked by cinnamon-colored upperparts and a long, thin tail. It occurs in highland páramo and montane forest in Colombia and Ecuador, with records from near the forest floor.
The back is cinnamon brown, fading to clay-colored sides. The underside is cinnamon buff, and the tail is long, thin, and brown.
The chapter treats it as terrestrial and reports captures among mossy rocks and on the ground in subalpine forest. These records show use of ground-level habitats; they do not establish its activity time or diet.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
