The Hispaniolan Crossbill is a finch from Hispaniola that feeds on pine seeds. The sexes differ in plumage, and the tips of the bill cross.
Adult males are washed with pale red and have two white wing-bars on black wings. Females are dull olive, with a yellowish rump. In both sexes, the tips of the upper and lower bill cross.
It feeds on pine seeds in forests of Hispaniolan pine. Because cone crops vary by place and year, the birds move in response to food availability.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
