Blanford’s fruit bat has no tail and has been recorded in hilly forests. The first Lao record came from a single specimen obtained at a local market.
The male specimen from Laos had dark fur, brown patches beneath the neck, a short muzzle, and large nostrils. It had no tail.
The species is associated with hill forests. Vegetation around the Lao record included dry evergreen forest, grassland, and secondary growth.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
