This large dove occurs on Timor and Wetar and feeds almost entirely on fruit.
Its body is dark bluish slate, with a paler head and underside. The crown, neck, and other areas show a green iridescence, and the orbital skin is yellow.
Its diet consists almost entirely of fruit. It uses primary and tall secondary monsoon forest, vine thickets, and densely vegetated gullies.
