This woodcreeper lives in lowland forests of the Amazon Basin and Guiana Shield. It searches for insects while climbing trunks and branches in forests near water and in flooded forests.
It averages about 20 cm. The brown head and back have buff streaks, while the wings, rump, and tail are rufous. The throat is buff to pale pinkish, and the breast is streaked.
It feeds mainly on small insects, climbing trunks and branches from the understory to the subcanopy. It sometimes joins mixed-species flocks.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
