A long-tailed parrot of montane forest in northwestern New Guinea, with a red body and green wings.
Adults are mostly red, with a dark-green back and wings. The rump has blue patches and a black band, and yellow patches mark the flanks and sides of the breast.
It is seen in pairs or groups, moving actively through trees and flicking its long tail. It is presumed to eat nectar, pollen, and flowers, but its wild diet has not been well documented.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
