This vireo relative lives in forest and scrub in eastern Brazil. Its gray iris and rufous crown stand out, and it searches for insects in trees.
It is about 12 cm long, with a gray iris, rufous forehead and crown, pale eyebrow, and ochre underparts.
It gleans insects and larvae from leaves and branches in the mid-storey and canopy, often at forest edges and in scrub. Brazilian records describe a suspended cup nest with two or three eggs.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
