This small mongoose has a brown body, a gray face, and a bushy tail. It has been recorded in Central Africa, but little is known about its life in the wild.
Its body, legs, and tail are brown; the underside is gray and the face a darker gray. The forefeet have thick, strong claws.
Field behavior is poorly studied. Partial daytime activity and hiding in termite mounds or trees have been proposed, but these are hypotheses rather than confirmed field observations.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
