This small lorikeet is restricted to Henderson Island in the Pitcairn Islands. It uses native forest, forest edges, and coconut palms, feeding on nectar, pollen, fruit, and insect larvae.
Adults have a red breast and purple coloring across the abdomen and thighs. The width and intensity of the red breast band vary among individuals, and juveniles differ in color from adults.
It forages in Henderson Island's native forest, along forest edges, and in coconut palms. Its diet includes nectar, pollen, fruit, and lepidopteran larvae.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
