The Puna mouse is a large, long-furred rodent of Peru's high Andes. The study records daytime activity among rocks and feeding on plants.
It has a rounded, vole-like body covered in long, loose dark-brown fur, and a relatively long tail.
At high-elevation rocky sites in Peru, it was observed moving among rocks by day and feeding on plants. These are limited field observations, not a complete account of the species' activity.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
