The Band-rumped Storm Petrel is a small seabird of waters far from land. It flies low over the sea on long wings and has a white band across its rump.
It has a dark body, long angular wings, and an even white band across the rump.
It flies offshore with shallow wingbeats and stiff-wing glides, and may settle and swim on the sea surface.
