The Brown-throated Martin is a small brown-toned swallow. The common pale morph has a white belly; the less common brown morph also has a brown belly.
The sexes are alike. Adult pale morphs are brown to greyish-brown above, with a white belly and undertail; the amount of white varies. In the brown morph these areas are brown.
It catches small insects while flying over water, wetlands and nearby open areas. It digs its own nesting burrows in sandy banks and cuttings.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
