The Palawan shrew is a poorly known shrew recorded from forests and secondary growth on Palawan Island in the Philippines. Few specimens and direct observations are available.
In the single typical Palawan specimen examined in 2007, the tail was nearly as long as the head and body, with long bristles covering only part of it.
The survey account reports records from old-growth rainforest and shrubby secondary forest, with specimens known from near sea level and from higher mountain sites. The 2004 field survey did not encounter the species.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
