The scimitar-horned oryx is an antelope of arid lands, with a pale coat and long, backward-curving horns.
Its coat is mostly white, with reddish-brown markings on the neck and face. Both males and females have long horns that curve backward.
It eats grasses, herbs, roots and buds. It rests in shade or sandy hollows during the hot part of the day and grazes mainly at night.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
