The Laotian leaf-nosed bat was known from Laos and was first reported in Thailand in 2026. Its species profile describes distinctive ears and noseleaf, and says it roosts in small groups.
The ears are broad. The anterior noseleaf is broad, and three ridges in the posterior leaf form four compartments. The dorsal fur is brown and the underside is lighter.
The TH-BIF species profile says it roosts in small groups. Thailand's government announcement reports the country's first record on 27 July 2026 in the Hin Sam Wan Recreational Forest Area, Bueng Kan Province.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
