The Sumatran Cochoa is a difficult-to-see bird of the mountain forests of Sumatra.
Its upperparts are glossy black, and its underparts are also black. BirdLife's account gives the dark underside as a feature distinguishing it from the Purple Cochoa.
It may stay still in low shrubs or near the ground and feeds on fruit and berries.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
