This small dolphin lives off southwestern Africa. Its grey body has a dark cape and white markings, and it is observed in shallow coastal and shelf waters, usually in small groups.
The body is stocky with a short, blunt snout and triangular dorsal fin. It is mostly grey, with a dark cape and a white belly patch that splits into three arms behind the umbilicus.
Its range is mainly coastal and shelf water shallower than 100 m. Earlier studies summarized in a 2020 paper found groups averaging three to four dolphins.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
