The Common Woodshrike lives in scrub and open woodland in southeastern India and feeds mainly on insects.
Adults have a gray-brown head and back, with a broad white eyebrow around the black eye. The throat is pale and the belly has darker streaks.
It occurs in pairs or small groups and searches among dead leaves and tree crevices for insects and spiders. It also eats fruit at times.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
