The African brush-tailed porcupine is a nocturnal rodent of West and Central African forests. It uses burrows during the day.
Long quills cover its back, and the end of its tail forms a brush.
It eats plant foods such as roots and fruit. When threatened, it raises its quills and swings its tail in defense.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
