This forest bird occurs on Mindanao in the Philippines. Sources use different generic combinations, including Heleia, Lophozosterops, and Apoia.
In Mees's 1953 account, the upperparts are dark olive, the throat is dingy white, and the white throat is sharply bordered against the yellow rest of the underparts. The eyering is greatly reduced.
It lives in montane forest and gleans fruit from leaves and branches.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
