The Anianiau is a Hawaiian honeycreeper found only on Kauaʻi. Hawaiʻi’s 2015 wildlife plan describes adult males as brilliant yellow and females as a duller yellow; it feeds on nectar and small arthropods.
Adult males are brilliant yellow; females are also yellow but duller.
It takes nectar and gleans spiders, moth caterpillars, and other small arthropods from outer branches, shrubs, vines, and tree-fern leaves.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
