The California myotis is a small North American bat. Its coat varies with location, including between dry regions and high elevations.
It is 70–94 mm in total length. Its dull, non-glossy fur is typically pale yellowish-orange in arid areas, while darker fur is more common in high-altitude populations.
During warmer months it roosts alone or in small groups, using places such as caves, mines, under tree bark, and buildings. Males and females may roost separately.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
