This ground-dwelling bird lives in the tropical rainforests of northeastern Queensland. Groups of about two to five defend year-round territories and search leaf litter for small animals.
The upperparts are blackish-brown, with a pale blue eye-ring. Males have a white chin through breast; females have a rufous chin and throat.
Small groups forage by moving leaf litter and eat small animals found in it. Groups maintain territories throughout the year.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
