The Buff-fronted Owl has a rufous face and white spots on its wings and tail. Argentine records place it in forests in the northeast and northwest of the country.
The area around the eyes is black, while the face and throat are rufous. The back is brown, and the wings and tail carry rows of white spots.
It uses forests and woodlands and gives a soft, prolonged trill.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
