The Plain Parakeet is a small green parrot that eats fruit, flowers, and nectar and moves in pairs or flocks. It is native to the Atlantic Forest of eastern Brazil and also visits gardens where fruit is available.
Its plumage is mostly green. The nape has a slight blue cast, the crown, cheeks, and underside are yellowish green, and the back and wings are darker green. The sexes look similar.
It eats fruit, seeds, flowers, and nectar and forages high in trees. It is often seen in pairs or flocks, nests in tree cavities or palm leaf bases, and visits gardens with fruiting plants.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
