This small tyrannulet is documented in Amazonas State in central Amazonian Brazil. It uses open woodland and scrub on sandy or rocky sand soils.
The adult male type specimen was olive above, with paler yellow-green on the throat and breast, a brighter yellow belly, a white iris, and dark wings.
It inhabits campina woodland and scrub on flat sandy ground or compacted, rocky sand. Field observations found it feeding often on mistletoe fruits and carrying seeds on branches.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
