A shrew recorded in Taiwan's forests and alpine grasslands above 1,000 m. It uses damp understory and fallen-log sites and eats earthworms and arthropods.
It has a thick gray-brown back and ash-white underside. The eyes and ears are small; the tail is slightly shorter than the body and lacks a bristled tuft, and the incisor tips are reddish brown.
The museum account says it favors damp understory, fallen logs, and streamside rock crevices, and feeds on earthworms and arthropods.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
