The male known from Mbanza-Ngungu in the Democratic Republic of the Congo has a large branched projection on the face below the eyes.
In the described male, the centre of the face below the eyes bears a very large projection, with a branch near its end on the posterior side.
On 6 October 1938 at Mbanza-Ngungu, one male was collected inside a large cave.
In 1955, one female was collected in caves in the same area.
The paired mouthparts of that male have extremely long lateral projections near the bases and pointed projections near the tips.
The leg-like palps beside that male’s mouth are very small relative to the body. The described female lacks the male projection on the face below the eyes.
