The Rennell flying fox is a fruit bat from the Solomon Islands. Its older specimen description is kept separate from the genus-level account of diet.
A 1968 study described the Rennell form, then treated as a subspecies of Pteropus rayneri, as lacking a three-colored dorsal pattern and having a short rostrum.
Phillips describes bats in the genus Pteropus as fruit-eating bats. This is a genus-level description, not a diet study of this species alone.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
