Short ochre, yellow or orange fur with dark ticking covers its back, while the underside is gray. It is mainly ground-dwelling and ranges through forested parts of northern and central South America.
Its short dorsal fur is ochre, yellow or orange, lightly to moderately ticked with dark brown. The shorter fur on the underside is mostly gray.
It is mainly terrestrial and uses places such as fallen logs and tree roots. It can also climb, but arboreal captures have been in the lower forest layers.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
