Stirton's Deermouse is a small mouse with scattered records in the dry lowlands of Central America. A study on Ometepe Island recorded it in relatively undisturbed forest.
The original description reports ochraceous-buff upper fur mixed with darker hairs. Its tail is close to the length of the body and is visibly furred.
Natural-history records are limited. In a study on Ometepe Island, Nicaragua, it was captured only in relatively undisturbed forest. Reports from other areas also include human-modified habitats.
An extinction-risk assessment has not been added yet.
